A quick recap of our Policies and Procedures.
Pet Sitting, Dog Walking, Off-Leash Dog Hikes, Dog Socialization
initial consults
These are a requirement for new pet care clients. They are performed by your primary sitter and provide an opportunity for us to acquaint ourselves and see first-hand your pet’s routines, needs, and temperments.
New client set up takes 2 1/2 to 3 hours. We ask for a one time set up fee of $15 prior to the consult.
contracts and forms
We'll need your co-operation in filling out contracts and forms. They are vital in regards to the care of your pet and essential for communication about your pet's needs.
disclaimers
Are for informational purposes. It's not our intention to annoy. We try to under promise and over deliver, so here goes...
* We provide a discount for client's with dog doors. Dogs without dog doors or pet's requiring time restricted meds add $2 per applicable visit.
* Small pets: There is usually no charge for fish feeding. Charges for other small and caged animals are dependent upon the circumstances of the base visit and the care and routine of the small pets and may or may not add time to the visit depending on each circumstance.
* There is a rate increase of 25% for sits that fall on some major holidays. These holidays include:
Easter, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day. This is not for the entire assingment-- only for sits that fall on the above holidays.
* Our cancellation policy is located at the bottom of the "Services and Rates" page. Please take a moment to review the bottom of that page.
* We charge by the time it takes to care for your pets, more than by the number of pets. Your pet's specifics and amount of house care needed will determine final price quote. Prices can change with circumstances.
* There can be instances where we credit you for time not needed and times when we may need to invoice for additional time. Emergency time, if ever needed, will be billed at a discounted time rate as a courtesy to you.
* Visit times will vary. This is just the nature of the business. There may be times when a visit runs longer at no additional charge and times when visits run on the short side. A visit will never be less than 20 minutes.
* You choose how your time is spent. The entire list of house services typically takes about 10 minutes each visit. Pick and choose from the list of house services as you'd like. If you prefer, we can spend the entire visit on quality time with your pet(s). In our experience, most clients opt for quality pet time with mail pick up and light rotation for security.
updating
We try to make it part of the process to remind you of any updates with your pets or house that we’ll need to know about. However, we’d like to take a brief moment here to remind you of the importance of knowing about these changes.
travel update submit
Please take advantage of this submittable form.
It has many benefits and keeps us informed on how to get in touch with you, as well as updates on the care of your pets and home.
It also allows for smooth communication between our company members.
scheduling
We ask for 7 days notice for new clients and 72 hours for existing clients. We do our best to accomodate short notice sits, but can not guarantee availability.
key policy
If we can’t get in, we can’t care for your pets. Keys are kept on file, in a lock box and will always be numbered only. This is our preferred method. At present time, all clients keep keys on file with us. Having your keys on file with your sitter has many benefits. If you need to leave in an emergency, in most cases we'll be available for you.
We are fully insured and bonded and have many references available.
payments
We request payments, in full, prior to the first service. This helps us keep rates low by not having to remember to collect. Once you’re set up in scheduling, you can either pay by clicking on the invoice/service confirmation that we’ll send you (the easiest way) or by the pay now button on the website. If you prefer, you can mail a check. We accept Visa, Master Card, American Express and Discover. We also accept cash and check.
cancellation policy
Please be aware of our cancellation policy and holiday surcharges.
As a courtesy, we generally waive the cancellation fee on the first occurance or if cancellations are not a common occurance.
inclement weather policies
For out of town services, we'll make every attempt to get to your pets in inclement weather, however, we cannot guarantee services. For the safety of all involved, if weather conditions are considered a danger to sitters, ie: icy roads, very poor visibility, etc., we will contact your emergency contact (we always prefer a neighbor with a key) to make the visit.
For dog walks only, or services that include dog walks or hikes, for the comfort and safety of your pet(s), if the temperature and/or wind chill is below freezing, or if lightening, rain/hail storms pose a threat to safety we may shorten walks or, if necessary substitute indoor play time and a potty break.
time of visits
Clients must be serviced in the following order: pets on certain meds, dogs without dog doors and/or special needs pets, routine pet visits. We certainly keep pet feeding schedules and requested times in mind and we'll come as close to those times as possible but for obvious reasons we must service pets in the above order. The times that we make visits will vary according to our schedule at the time. As a general rule, you can expect a visit within a 2 hour window of the service time you've requested, however, this is only a general rule and can also change if a prior visit must run over in time. We thank you in advance for your understanding.
extension of sits
We do our best to be available to add sits for your pets if you will be late returning. We can not guarantee availability so please let us know as soon as possible so we can adjust our schedule.
We reserve the right to enact a late notice or unshceduled sit fee for instances that occur on a frequent basis.
miscellaneous
Clients are responsible for pet-proofing their house, yard, fencing and gates. Due to the unpredictability of animals, Ali’s Angels cannot be held responsible for unusual circumstances such as destroying household items, eating items that are not stored properly, eating unusual items or the disappearance of or legal consequences resulting from any pet with unsupervised access to the outdoors.
If we feel that at any time pet(s) pose a danger to sitters we reserve the right to have pet(s) placed in a kennel, with charges paid for by you, for the remainder of the assignment.
We'll do our best to follow plant care instruction, but cannot guarantee a "green thumb".
As part of client communication, clients agree to discuss any concerns with Ali’s Angels within 24 hours of return.
office hours
Ali’s Angels office hours are M-F from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm. We make every attempt to answer all phone calls. Please be patient with us. You can be confident that we will return your call shortly. The nature of a pet sitting business often requires us to be out in the field and away from the phone. Your call is important to us and we will get back to you very soon. Be sure to leave several numbers and good times to contact you so that we can better return your call.
